SAT I & ACT

As a part of the application process, colleges require an assessment test. Two tests accepted by most colleges are the SAT I and ACT. These are generally taken during the junior or senior year. For more information on these tests please click on the following ICPAC publication:

For the 2006-2007 school year, the Directions program will provide SAT and ACT workshops for Directions participants to prepare for these tests.

All workshops will take place on school days and will be considered field trips. Students will take a practice test and then be given instruction in the areas in which they were weakest. Tips for taking both SAT I and ACT will be presented.

For participants who qualify as low income, most schools and the Directions program can supply fee waivers for both the SAT I and the ACT. For the 2006-2007 year the SAT is $41.50, the ACT is $29, and the ACT Plus Writing is $43.00.. Please contact your Directions advisor or school counselor for more information.
